Background - SBIR/STTR & TABA

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, established in 1982, and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program, established in 1992, have been pivotal in providing innovative US businesses with substantial funding.

From 2018 to 2022, these programs collectively awarded more than $17 billion USD, averaging approximately $3.4 billion USD per year. This significant financial support is a clear indication of the substantial opportunities available for innovative businesses, and we are here to guide you in accessing these funds.SBIR/STTR funding is non-dilutive, providing essential financial support without requiring entrepreneurs to relinquish equity or incur debt. This allows businesses to strengthen their financial positions and retain full control while accelerating product development and innovation. However, securing this non-dilutive R&D funding is highly competitive and complex. Applicants must write effective proposals, ensure their projects are built for success, adhere to application guidelines, follow submission protocols, and maintain compliance during project execution. TIV offers expert assistance to entities pursuing SBIR/STTR or other government program funding. Our 360-degree program covers applications' technological and business model aspects across numerous domains and helps applicants meet the administrative requirements of various agencies.

TIV was honored as one of the winners of the Small Business Administration (SBA) 2024 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition (GAFC). This competition aims to catalyze strategic ecosystem partnerships to build community and organizational capacity to launch, grow, and scale STEM-based entrepreneurs and startups successfully.
